Adesh, Rusna and Serbia

Hello All!!!!

I have settled in to Belgrade. I want to take a moment before I plunge into my life in Serbia to send my love to Adesh on his BIRTHDAY!!! Turning 10 is truly an occasion worth celebrating. You are officially a 2 digit-er for the next 90 years!!! LOVE YOU and wish only the BEST for you. Cliche, I know, but its true. I also have to mention that it was Rusna's BDAY last week, love ya kid. I am thinking about you both all the time...

Work is going...Yes work is going, I have a glimpse into what it is like to have a real job...Fun! The people at work are great. I share an office, called the "KID'S ROOM", with a group of young talented professionals. I mostly have been going through recommendation reports, not very challenging but it is a good learning exercise.
Ok so on to none work stuff... Well there isn't much... I was fortunate to see Manchester United pulverize Arsenal (yeah!!!) at the Sports Cafe. To my friends that support Arsenal, I will not rub it in for much longer. I have been spending a lot of time in my apartment. ahhh...My apartment... A two room box, that invokes a truly 1970s feeling. I sleep on a fold out couch that screams "I DIED BUT I CAME BACK FOR YOU....LOVE ME DAMN IT!!!" And I do... Its big bulky and is covered with dull orange flowers...Absolutely fabulous and matches the rest of the decor brilliantly. The best part of the whole apartment is that there is central heating and a glorious kitchen, with new appliances, that work!!! My last apartment in Serbia, had neither the fabulous kitchen, the heating that worked or the nice landlord.
And to those of you that doubt I could ever make a full meal without my mother standing right beside...hahahaha...I have proved you all...Only partly right. I am actually cooking, and its exciting to think about what I will make for the next evening.

Well I would also Like to send a congratulation to Alexis on the job, Juan on the MC position, Sugand on the fabulous work she is doing in all the areas of her life.

Email me with news, notes, interesting tidbits.

There and Back

Hello and Dobar Dan

My very first entry, this is so exciting!!! First of all I send out a very happy new years to all of you. I have been out of touch with many people, and following the lead of many of my more intelligent friends I have decided to keep an online blog about my comings and goings. I hope to post things regularly but for those of you who know me well I make no promises :P

So for those that are not aware I have currently been working in Serbia since September 2004. After a short break in Mexico and Calgary I am back among Serbs.

I have been back in Serbia for three weeks now. In the land that never reaches -40 degrees Celsius, but it has been snowing and in an office with no heating, I will complain. What am I doing in Serbia? Well I am completing my second traineeships with KPMG in the auditing department. This time I am based in Belgrade and am staying until June 29th. I cant change my flight so I have no choice, but I may come back /go back depending on whether Sugand, Nirat, Pran and Angan decided to tour eastern Europe.

Work is going well. I have a lot to learn, and my coworkers are great. Its a really young group of people and going to the office is fun. I have been on two field assignments, and one of them was in Leskovac!!! Zdravlje was my first assignment, not that I did much other than visit with former colleagues. Leskovac is the same but it snowed and it looked great. The notorious, Hotel Belgrade was once again my home for the week. Hotel Belgrade, as some of you may remember as the place infested by giant cockroaches, grumpy old men, and no hot water. Yes such special memories. While in Leskovac I met up with my friend Jelena (there are many Jelena's but only one from Belgrade) and we spent evening gabbing about her upcoming nuptials and her trip to Barbados with her fiance. The other assignment was for McDonald's wholesaler in Serbia, Yutral. Nice people and no heat!!!!

So other than work, I have been wandering around Belgrade, enjoying the sights and the freezing weather, its really nothing to complain about.

I will be in touch send me an email, I will try to send regular updates, keyword try.

Dovidjenja
Goodbye
hugs and kisses
